The Bulldog Ant
Bulldog ant is also known as the jumper, jack jumper or bull ant. It's found in most parts of Australia and has venom so powerful in some cases it could even kill a human!

Where is the Bulldog ants habitat?
The Bulldog ant has been known to live in many areas these include forest, woodlands, suburbs and big areas of grass called heath as well as peoples backyards and schools but they tend to stay away from loud noises.
What do Bulldog ants eat?

They eat honeydew, seeds, fruit, fungi, gums and nectar and small insects such as silverfish aphids and ladybugs they will also eat any human food they can get their mandibles (jaws) on.
What is the life cycle of the Bulldog ant?

What are the different features of the Bulldog ant?

The Bulldog ant has many different features to a regular ant such as it having a better vision that allows them to see up to one metre longer than a regular ant.

Bulldog Ants can close their jaws at an astonishing speed of 233 KM per hour. They can leap up to 2 inches (taller than the length of an adult bulldog ant).
The sting of the Bulldog ant

The sting of the Bulldog ant can send a human in shock although there haven’t been many cases of death with Bulldog ants you should still avoid them as they won't hesitate to bite or sting (as I know from experience by getting stung and bitten twice!)
What to do when an ant bites (or stings) you

If you have an allergy to an ant sting, call an ambulance. Tell them your adrenaline if you have been told to lie down do not walk. Wait for the ambulance If you don’t have an allergy to an ant sting. Wash the area with soap and water put on an ice pack to the area.
See your doctor if the sting does not clear up in a few days. Other dangerous ants include the Green-head Ant, Blue Ant (this is actually a type of wasp) and Red velvet Ant (this one too!).
